What to expect

Expect a workout like you’ve never experienced before! At BOLD Pilates, we don’t shy away from making you feel the burn. In fact, that’s precisely what your body needs in order to get stronger, more flexible, reduce pain, and protect you from future injury. You will come away smiling knowing that you’ve just completed an amazing full-body workout.

At BOLD Pilates we use layered programming to make sure that each person in the class is challenged to their appropriate level of fitness. This way every client is able to do a version of each exercise taught in class without feeling left behind or bored and unchallenged. We also use an evidence based approach, for example using external cues rather than internal cues, to help each client get the most out of each exercise and get the best results.

Booking a Class

Our studio uses Momence, a user-friendly booking system that is used industry-wide. Make sure to download the app and get your classes booked early! You can also use the app to put yourself on the waitlist if a class is full.

What to Wear

Sticky socks are required in the studio! They help with grip, stability, and hygiene. If you don’t have a pair, you can purchase sticky socks on Amazon. Wear fitted, breathable workout clothes that let you move freely—think leggings, shorts, or athletic wear—just avoid anything too loose, as it can get in the way of certain moves. Please do not wear anything with zippers or other items that might get caught or scratch the equipment.

BOLD Pilates FAQs

Pilates is a movement system that focuses on building strength, improving posture, increasing flexibility, and enhancing overall body awareness. It was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, blending principles from gymnastics, boxing, and yoga to create a method that promotes balanced strength and mindful movement.
Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothes that allow for movement. Don’t wear clothing with zippers (which can scratch the equipment) or anything too loose. Sticky socks (sometimes called grip socks) are required for safety and hygiene.
Just bring yourself, a water bottle if you’d like, and your sticky socks!
Absolutely! We offer Beginner Level Reformer group classes (as well as private sessions) that are great for beginners. You don’t need any experience to get started—just a willingness to move and try something new.
Mat Pilates is done on the floor using your bodyweight for resistance, while Reformer Pilates uses a spring-based machine that adds resistance and support. BOLD Pilates uses the Reformer in all of our classes.
For best results, we recommend coming 2–3 times per week. But even one class a week can make a noticeable difference in how you feel and move!
Not at all! You don’t need to be flexible to start. In fact, Pilates can help you become more flexible over time, along with improving your strength and control.
Yes! One of the core benefits of Pilates is building better alignment and stability, which often helps with back pain and postural imbalances. Be sure to let us know about any specific issues so we can adjust things for your comfort and safety.
Definitely. Pilates is commonly used in rehabilitation because of its focus on controlled movement, alignment, and strength-building. We’ll work with you to modify movements as needed so you can safely rebuild strength and mobility. Always check with your doctor or physical therapist before starting if you’re recovering from an injury.
While both focus on the mind-body connection, Pilates places more emphasis on core strength, spinal alignment, and precise movements. We also use the Reformer to provide both support and resistance.
We’ll guide you through each exercise and offer on-the-spot corrections as needed. Your instructor will offer personalized guidance, and you’ll be supported every step of the way. Expect to leave feeling strong, stretched, and more connected to your body.
Absolutely! Pilates is a fantastic way to stay strong and feel good throughout your pregnancy. It helps with posture, pelvic floor strength, and overall comfort. Just make sure to let us know you’re expecting, and we’ll offer appropriate modifications for each trimester.
Our classes are intentionally small—capped at just 8 people—so we can give you focused, individualized attention. You’re not just working out on your own; you’re being guided by a trained instructor the whole time who ensures you’re moving safely and effectively. The quality of instruction and personal support is a big part of what makes Pilates so valuable.
We use Momence for all of our scheduling and class bookings. You can sign up through our website or download the Momence app. From there, you’ll be able to view our schedule, reserve classes, manage your bookings, and purchase class packs or memberships—all in one place.
